Scott Bader-ATC Site in Drummondville, Canada Gains ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation from BNQ

The Scott Bader-ATC chemical plant and operational site in Drummondville, Canada, has recently gained ISO 9001:2015 accreditation (certificate no: 50646-1-03), awarded by BNQ (Bureau de normalisation du Québec).

ISO 9001 is the globally recognised international quality management system (QMS) standard which signifies the ability of an organisation to consistently provide high quality products and services that satisfy customer needs while meeting regulatory standardisation and quality assurance requirements.

The Scott Bader-ATC ISO project was led by Plant Manager Pierre Parenteau, with team members:  Nadège Vincent, Chemist; Mélanie Roy, Finance Director; and COO, Jean-Pascal Schroeder.  Being the very first ISO accreditation for the Drummondville site, specialist ISO consultant Denis Bernier was brought in to support the team.

Scott Bader explains that the project team was able to make rapid progress as a comprehensive internal Quality Assurance (QA) program, with robust measures and practices, was already in place and had been adopted for many years at Drummondville. QA procedures and recording methodologies were formalised according to ISO, with any additions being put in place where needed to meet ISO 9001:2015.

Pierre Parenteau explained that, "Scott Bader-ATC already had in place the key components to ensure that customers were getting outstanding quality and service. Our ISO initiative has enabled us to tie together all the elements we had and implement an internationally recognised QA system.”

Nick Padfield, President of Scott Bader-North America added, “We are all very proud of the hard work, commitment and dedication demonstrated by the project team in Drummondville to get this ISO accreditation awarded for the site in such a speedy manner.”

The Scott Bader-ATC plant in Canada manufactures a wide range of polyester and vinyl ester based pastes and compounds for tooling and fairing production, compression and displacement moulding, bonding, repair and protection, which are supplied to the global composites market place. Scott Bader North America’s product portfolio includes an extended range of bonding pastes and structural adhesives, including Scott Bader’s urethane acrylate Crestomer and Crestabond MMA primerless adhesive product ranges, and Crestapol high performance acrylic resin for advanced composites.
