26 January 2016

DIAB’s production facility in Kunshan, Shanghai, China, has been granted recognition by the city’s mayor.

DIAB explains that the plant is considered to be the safest balsa wood and IPN/PET factory in the area and a model for other manufacturers.

To show commitment to customers in China and the Asia region, DIAB says it took the decision to make a significant investment to upgrade its facilities in Kunshan, China. Notable safety measures have been implemented. All the equipment has been aligned with the latest EX regulations, new dust collectors have been purchased and existing dust collectors have been upgraded. The factory now has a basically dust-free environment, which is rare in its line of business. Well-known tools as 5S and LEAN manufacturing principles have been implemented to further improve work environment.

After the upgrades, DIAB says it feels confident that the company is in a favourable position to secure continued operation, stabile deliveries to its customers and in a position that has now been further strengthened.

“We are very proud of having received this recognition,” says Johan Gralén, Executive Vice President Asia Pacific at DIAB. According to DIAB it established its first facility in Kunshan, China in 2005 as the first international core company in China and has since then continuously increased its operations.

Today, its plant has around 300 employees and a second plant is under construction. DIAB adds, it is determined to create and maintain a safe working environment for all of its employees and safety practices are incorporated into each job task.

“These efforts are part of our sustainability strategy and considered one of our top business priorities,” continues Gralén.
