Formaplex has commissioned a further 5 injection moulding presses to increase component production capabilities.
Formaplex explains that, following the investment of £15m over recent years, it has purchased 5 new Negri Bossi mould presses, including a 2,000T model totals a further £1m investment. This will increase its plant list to include 16 injection mould presses, ranging from 3,500t - 55t.
Formaplex says that the additional machines will increase capacity for prototype and low volume production runs by 50%. Tool trial capacity will also increase. As a fully integrated services supplier, its facilities are also used by customers for off-line tool trials and development validation before taking tools back to their production lines. It operates round the clock to meet time critical delivery schedules, its policy of continuous investment in the latest technology, combined with a 'can do' attitude, ensures complete accuracy and fast response times for customer satisfaction.

The Metyx Hungary factory, located in Kaposvár, has recently expanded its warehousing facilities, adding an additional 3,024 m2 of enclosed storage space for composite technical fabrics, packaging and FRP tooling.
The American Composites Manufacturers Association participated in a roundtable discussion about the IMAGINE Act. Known as the Innovative Materials in American Growth and Infrastructure, Newly Expanded (IMAGINE) Act, the new bill is designed to promote the increased use of innovative materials like fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites, as well as new manufacturing methods to accelerate the deployment and extend the life of infrastructure projects.
