NTPT Offers Pre-forming Services Free to New Prepreg Customers

North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT) offers pre-forming services free for customers buying NTPT’s UD prepregs.

NTPT explains that it is able to propose this ‘Buy NTPT Prepreg, “Pre-form” for free’ promotion due to new Automated Tape Laying (ATL) capacity coming on stream in our purpose built factory in Poland. NTPT says the promotion will run for as long as NTPT has available ATL pre-forming capacity and gives customers the opportunity to order tailor made prepreg solutions. The promotion is applicable to all new prepreg customers who place their order from 1 September 2015 onwards.

According to NTPT it manufactures unidirectional tapes (UD Tapes) and multiaxial prepreg preforms produced with ATL machines. Its automation solutions shorten production cycle time and reduce labour costs. Engineers will liaise with designers to create the exact layout of the prepreg through utilising NTPT’s 2D to 3D design and layout software. NTPT will deliver pre-form kits in a ready-to-use pack.

“The supply of pre-forming offers major advantages for prepreg users”, states NTPT’s CEO James Austin. “NTPT is able to provide a set of prepreg materials in a ready-to-use preform format. This has the potential to reduce production cycle times (lay-up off the mould), and significantly reduce labour costs. We are naturally interested in demonstrating these advantages to the wider market place, not only to promote NTPT’s materials, but also our ATL machines which NTPT also makes available for sale to the composites market place. We look forward to demonstrating our competence in this area to new clients for our prepreg materials.”

NTPT says they will attend the following Tradeshows:

  • Composites Europe, Stuttgart, Germany, 22-24 September 2015
  • CAMX, Dallas, US, 27-29 October 2015
  • Advanced Engineering UK, Birmingham, UK, 4-5 November 2015
  • Kompozyt-Expo, Krakow, Poland, 25-26 November 2015
