Polinox Lowers Growth Expectations in 2014

30 September 2014

Polinox closed the first half reporting 1% increase in the volume produced compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to Roberto Pontifex, Director of the company, the result determined the downward revision in the growth forecasts in 2014. “We expected 6% growth, but given the performance in the first six months, we should end the year with a 3% increase, at most,” he calculates.

According to projections from the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO), the Brazilian composites sector has produced 102,600 tons in the first half, 0.5% higher than in the first six months of 2013. For the year, however, ALMACO estimates a 0.9% drop in the total volume processed, which should total 208,000 tons.
