Production processes, measurement technology and new materials on the cutting edge of science will be on display at the event’s new zone.
The event organisers explain this year’s show will feature a new special area “Industry meets Science” enables visitors to grasp the latest developments and highlights from process engineering, dimensioning and quality assurance.
The Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University is responsible for implementing this special area at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 7 to 9 October.
The “Industry meets science” exhibition will present traditional thermoset materials and thermoplastic composites as well as innovative matrices such as polyurethane and thermoplastics polymerising in situ. Numerous demonstrator components and tours of selected highlights complete the range of offerings. The aim is to provide trade fair visitors with a better understanding of the entire value chain, from fibre production to quality assurance.
IKV receives support from several partners associated with RWTH Aachen. They include the Aachen Center for Integrative Lightweight Production (AZL), the Institute for Textile Technology (ITA), the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika), the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT), the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) and the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen.
The special area “Industry meets Science” is intended as an enhancement of the Product Demonstration Area (PDA) where exhibitors present their new products and processes in live demonstrations so visitors can experience up close how innovations are created.
