This centre in Méry, Savoie, France, is being opened to enable Axson customers to carry out tests and trials from early 2015. The announcement follows Axson’s acquisition of Merylithe, a move according to Axson strengthened the company’s expertise in polyurethane elastomer formulations.
The new, state-of-the-art Axson Merylithe technical centre will focus on both isocyanate formulation and systems. “We will be an incubator for innovative PUR solutions. We are offering a customised approach!” said Jérôme Duclos, Director of Axson Merylithe.
According to Axson, by taking over Merylithe, a move in line with the group’s acquisition policy, it is building on its position as a leader in formulations. “By working to expand Axson Merylithe we are complying with the Group’s objective to offer our customers every type of formulation solution, whether complex or functional. Our expertise in formulations combined with Axson Merylithe’s great flexibility will enable us to push back boundaries and improve product performance,” said Patrick Blosse, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at Axson technologies.
It says this approach is set to benefit the entire group, “Axson Merylithe will enable our Axson Technologies Business Unit to develop certain niche markets and continue to provide high-performance applications in the elastomer market,” continued Charles Churet, President of Axson Group.
“Axson Merylithe is also working on more environmentally-friendly PUR ranges and is currently researching alternatives to petrol and carbon products. Developing bio-sourced systems is a real challenge for the industry of tomorrow!” said Jérôme Duclos.
