Hexcel Congratulates Innegra Technologies on Receiving a JEC Americas Innovation Award for Fibres

03 September 2013

Hexcel is proud to partner Innegra Technologies in accepting a JEC Americas Innovation Award for Fibres.

The award will be presented on October 3rd at the JEC Americas show in Boston, US in recognition of the highly successful combination of Hexcel’s HexTow carbon fibre with Innegra fibre to maximise the high strength and toughness in composite laminates.

Innegra S Fibre is an ultra-lightweight (0.84g/cc) high modulus polypropylene fibre technology that provides a significant weight reduction in composites while increasing the ability to absorb energy for impact resistance when combined with other fibres.

Innegra Technologies primarily uses Hexcel’s high strength HexTow carbon fibre as a co-mingled product with Innegra fibre.  Hexcel and Innegra worked in partnership to optimise the fibre mix, for which typical applications are sporting goods, safety helmets and automotive structures.
