DSM received the award in the Raw Materials category for its Atlac 5200 FC GMP resin at the biggest trade fair in Asia for the composites industry.
The award programme is honouring the best innovative composite products and technologies of the year, selected by a jury from both domestic and overseas industry experts.
DSM says composite materials are increasingly being used in storage tanks and in-plant piping for food processing installations replacing stainless steel, for their outstanding durability and excellent corrosion resistance.
Besides providing food supplier’s peace-of-mind on process continuity and their brand image, composites help to save cost, both in investment and in maintenance.
DSM claim Atlac 5200 FC is a high performance vinyl ester resin manufactured in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), used to make composite components that come in contact with food or potable water. GMP is a systematic quality and hygiene management standard widely applied in industries like pharmaceutical and food. The Atlac 5200 FC resin is manufactured both in China and in Europe.
“With its background in Food and Life Sciences, DSM has a broad expertise in applying GMP standards”, comments Marta Pascual, GMP Segment Leader of DSM Composite Resins. “DSM certifies that the starting materials of Atlac 5200 FC are on the so-called “positive list” of EU Regulation 10/2011. This greatly simplifies the approval process for DSM’s direct customers and brings at the end improved consumer health and safety.”
“DSM has been a winner of the Innovation Award already for several times with its Daron resins, Neogel Eco gelcoats, and Palapreg Eco P55-01 bio-based resin.” adds Sean Jiang, Marketing & Sales Director of Jinling DSM Resins. “We are very proud that we won again this prestigious award with the Atlac 5200 FC resin. This is a perfect illustration of DSM’s innovative power creating benefits for both people and planet.”
