Strongwell Partners with Economic Development Authority to Build FRP Accessibility Ramp

28 May 2013

Strongwell recently partnered with the Chatfield Economic Development Authority in Minnesota, US, to develop, build and install an ADA-compliant handicap access ramp for the Chatfield Center for the Arts.

Located at the historic 1916 and Potter Auditorium Buildings, this ramp is one of many changes taking place as the area is being transformed into a modern, sustainable, regional destination for the arts.

The 5 x 20 metre ramp was built using Strongwell-manufactured fibre reinforced polymer composites, prefabricated at Strongwell’s Chatfield location, and then sent to the install site at the northwest entrance to the Chatfield Center for the Arts building. Mike Tuohy, a member of the Center for the Arts Advisory Board, arranged site preparation and along with Strongwell personnel, supervised the final installation of the donated structure.

Strongwell’s Chatfield General Manager, Mike Jaszewski, said that, “Strongwell is proud to be a part of a community wide effort to create an arts centre with regional influence and continues to support the Chatfield community in its efforts.”
