Gurit will promote its epoxy laminating resins, adhesives and repair kits, as well as its composite panel boatbuilding system, at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show taking place in Gold Coast, Australia between 23 – 26 May on Stand 68.
The company state is presenting its new Epoxy Repair Kit a the show, which is a ‘first aid kit’ for boats comprising everything that is needed to undertake small jobs on a boat, and ideal for use in emergencies and for general maintenance. For customers in Queensland, the Epoxy Repair Kit, and the rest of the Gurit product range, can be purchased through Gurit’s distributor for the region, CG Composites, who will be present on the Gurit stand at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.
A more recent development for the build of one-off boats, which Gurit say is suitable for the home boatbuilder or an established boatyard, is the Hi-Panel. Introduced to the market four years ago, this solution has been used in the primary structures of a range of boats – from the Origami 6.3m launch Sumo, the Marc Deborde 78ft power catamaran IETA, and the Stimson 56ft sailing monohull Alcedo. Resin infused core sandwich panels, to a maximum size of 9m x 2m, are manufactured by Gurit’s laminators. The company says they can be supplied to the customer as finished panels, or CNC-cut to shapes provided, complete with part labels where required.
Further completed Hi-Panel projects include hold lids for a fishing boat and carbon interior panels for a luxury catamaran.
