Ecocomp 2013 Conference to Promote Developments in Sustainable Materials, Polymers and Composites

04 June 2013

The 5th Ecocomp conference will take place on 3-4 July 2013 at The Studio, Birmingham, UK.

The event, which is organised every two years by NetComposites, will focus on composite materials derived from natural, renewable sources as these have received significant interest in recent years, particularly due to the increased awareness of environmental issues and the drive towards more sustainable technologies.

The programme contains over 25 presentations from the following international organisations.

  • Aalto University
  • Composites Evolution Limited
  • Katholieke Universiteit Leuven
  • LIMATB
  • NetComposites Limited
  • Tilsatec Advanced Materials
  • University of Auckland
  • University of Manchester
  • University of Nottingham
  • University of Plymouth
  • University of Saarland
  • VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland
  • Wood Carinthian Competence Center

Claire Whysall, Event and Network Manager said, “The Ecocomp conference is always well attended by an equal amount of industry and academic delegates, which serves as a great forum for communicating the research industry needs to drive forwards with natural fibre composite technology. Since the last event in 2011 there has been an increased interest in natural fibres and resins because of sustainability concerns and we hope that companies will take the opportunity to come and find out more about this subject at this conference.”

Registration for the event is open and delegates are welcome to attend for both days or for one day, with student rates available. Sponsorship opportunities are offered, however, these are becoming limited.
