Composites One has begun construction of a 40,000-squarefoot, concrete tilt-up distribution centre in Katy, Texas, US.
Composites One’s Marketing Manager, Marcy Offner, said construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2013, and the company expects to fully occupy the new distribution centre by October. Composites One says it will bring 14 jobs to the Katy area by 2014, with additional hiring needs to be determined later.
“We are adding capacity in Katy in anticipation of continued growth. We think this state-of-the-art facility will enable that growth, which is the reason we are making this investment at this time,”Offner said. “Our intent would be to add employees, as required, to support that growth as it takes place.”
Composites One says it chose to locate to the Katy-Waller County area for several reasons. “Katy has been attracting a lot of new businesses because of its geographic location, access to expressways, and growing population,” noted Offner. “We strongly believe all of those factors will be important to Composites One’s success and look forward to being a part of the Katy community.”
Lance LaCour, President and CEO of the Katy Area Economic Development Council, said the
Katy area business community welcomes Composites One. “Companies like Composites One are well-respected and one of our target industries in the distribution sector,” LaCour stated.
