SP-High Modulus is sponsoring the High Performance Yacht Design (HPYD) Conference being held in Auckland, New Zealand from this week.
According to SP, the HPYD conference is a highly acclaimed world class technical conference focusing on the design, analysis, testing and performance of cutting-edge racing and super yachts. The event is being held during the Auckland stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race with delegates being able to meet some of the sailors and see the yachts during the conference.
As a gold sponsor SP-High Modulus say they will be hosting the pre-conference event, a dinner cruise around Auckland’s Viaduct Basin. The conference, now in its fourth year, is organised by the Royal Institute of Naval Architects and draws attendees from all over the world. This year the conference will feature presentations on subjects including material and structural analysis, hull and appendage design and computational methods.
Giorgio Vismara, General Manager Marine, SP-High Modulus remarked “We are pleased to be supporting this prestigious event in the New Zealand marine calendar. As a leading supplier of advance composite materials to the race and super yacht markets, SP-High Modulus can bring a wealth of experience to this event and we look forward to sharing our knowledge with the conference delegates”.
