AIC Group has become an associate member of the NCC.
According to AIC, this enables it to develop and mature new systems in association with the cutting edge work at the NCC, and to showcase these systems to NCC members and other users. It also enables the company to develop new processing technologies as new materials and requirements are produced by other NCC members, helping to keep the UK at the forefront of composite manufacturing.
In particular, AIC says a wider range of people involved in the industry will see its Autoclave Management and Control System (AMCS) running on all the NCC’s development equipment and will have first-hand experience of how good and how flexible this new front end, high spec control system can be. It will give AIC the opportunity to be involved from an early stage with any new cure functions or control system modifications that may be required to meet the new ideas and technologies being developed at the NCC.
Tony Toll, CEO of AIC Group, said “The NCC plays a pivotal role in the UK composites sector and we are pleased to play our part in making it a success. AIC is already supporting some of the biggest players in the UK industry and our membership of the NCC will widen these opportunities, enabling us to showcase our capabilities in a world-class facility.”
Peter Chivers, CEO of the NCC, said “This is great news for the National Composites Centre. AIC is a leading innovator in control management systems. We are very pleased to welcome them to the growing number of NCC members. We look forward to AIC’s contribution to our multi-sector offering for the whole of the composites industry.”
