The Network Group for Composites in Construction (NGCC) will be welcoming ten young researchers to showcase their research work at Advanced Composites in Construction (ACIC) 2011. NGCC’s first Young Researcher of the Year competition will be held on Tuesday 6th September as part of the ACIC conference programme and is aimed at the next generation of engineers who are enthusiastic about fibre reinforced polymers in structural engineering. The finalists have been chosen from the UK’s top universities and businesses with the overall winner will be chosen by conference delegates and announced at the gala dinner on Wednesday 7th September. The conference, which will take place from 6 – 8 September at the University of Warwick’s International Digital Laboratory, will focus on current topics within the construction industry to highlight the use of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials in new and existing all-FRP structures as well as strengthening, refurbishment and reinforcement applications in traditional infrastructure. ACIC is open for registrations and NGCC members receive a 20% discount on the full 3 day delegate fee. A table top exhibition and other sponsorship opportunities are available.
Applications for composites in the sports and leisure sector will be showcased by various exhibitors at Composites Europe in Stuttgart, Germany, on 6-8 November.
The programme has been announced for the second Composites in Sport Conference and Exhibition, being held at Loughborough University, UK, on 3-4 October 2018.
