Scott Bader, Interplastic and CCP Announce Price Increases

22 June 2009

Scott Bader, Interplastic and CCP have all announced forthcoming price increases.

Scott Bader will be increasing the prices across all its European sites of all Crystic unsaturated polyester, DCPD and Vinyl Ester resins, plus all gelcoats, pigments, bonding pastes and Crystic Crestomer structural adhesive products by 4-6% depending on the product. The new prices will be applied to all invoiced orders from July 1st 2009 onwards.

Malcolm Forsyth, European Commercial Director, Composites business division of Scott Bader commented “Scott Bader continues to do all it can to minimise and absorb the impact of these raw material cost increases but must now pass on some of these extra costs to its customers. We will continue to work closely with our customers to support them during these challenging times”

Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP) will be making a $.05 per pound price increase for all unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, gel coats and Thermaclean products effective for shipments made on or after July 6, 2008.

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of CoREZYN and Silmar brand products $0.05 per pound for shipments on or after July 4, 2009. This increase includes all vinyl esters, polyesters, specialty resins, gel coats, colorants, and putties.

“The recent sharp increase in crude oil and derivative products has put increased pressure on the price of all polyester raw materials. We can no longer absorb these increased costs and must pass a portion on to our customers,” explained Steve Wetzel, Interplastic’s National Sales Manager.
