Redelease Launches Environmentally Friendly Mould Release in Brazil

22 February 2009

Redelease increased its environmentally friendly products portfolio with the beginning of semi-permanent mould release Monocoat 1001 W commercialization.

The water-based mould release – manufactured by Chemtrend – does not damage the environment and exempts the use of Personal Protection Equipment (EPIs) during the application, as its formula has no solvents. “It is a product suggested to companies that have or are looking for ISO 14000 environmental certification”, says Ruben Cruz, Redelase’s CEO.

With a wide use in Europe, Monocoat 1001 W also stands out because it does not leave residues in the mould, what makes it easier to be cleaned. “Therefore, the transformer saves time and money during the cleaning”, says the CEO, reminding that this new product can be used in the manufacture of wind blades, ships and car spare parts, among other composite artifacts.

Sponsor of the Composite Recycling National Program, a Composite Materials Brazilian Association (Abmaco) and Technological Research Institute (IPT) initiative, Redelease distributed other solvent-free products, such as Polynew 50 – a composite spare parts’ shine fixative – and the rotational moulding mould cleaner Rotocleaner. “We also started providing some types of semi-permanent mould releases in bulk. Thus, we reduce the volume of packages discarded by our customers”, explains Cruz.
