CCP Launches Reactive Tackifier

06 October 2008

Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP), introduces a reactive polymer tackifier for the closed molding industry.

CCP’s development of NuTack includes reactive sites built into the tackifier polymer backbone that chemically bonds with infusion-based polyester, or vinyl ester resins commonly used in RTM, RTM light, vacuum bagging and vacuum infusion molding.

CCP say that testing of NuTack has confirmed significant interlaminar shear property improvements in excess of 130% as compared to conventional rubber-based adhesives, which were developed for non-structural applications. Three new, HAP free NuTack products are now available from CCP.
