Interplastic and AOC Price Increases

17 July 2008

Both AOC and Interplastic will make $0.08 per pound price increases in the next month.

AOC will make a US $0.08 per pound price increase on all resins, gel coats, pigments, colorants and additives for the United States, Canada (CN $0.17 per kilo), Mexico and export shipments to Central America and the Caribbean

The increase is effective for all shipments on and after August 2, 2008. AOC will raise prices on product delivered in drums an additional US $0.02 per pound (CN $0.04 per kilo) effective August 2, 2008.

“Across the board increases, which this industry has never experienced, continue on freight, fuel surcharges and raw materials to manufacture and deliver products to our customers,” stated Jack Roesle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of CoREZYN and Silmar brand products $0.08 per pound for shipments on or after August 2, 2008. This increase includes all vinyl esters, polyesters, specialty resins, gel coats, colorants, and putties. Interplastic will also complete the additional $0.02 - $0.04 increase on all products shipped in steel drums, which was announced previously due to labour and related drumming costs.

“All raw materials continue to increase as crude oil remains at historic highs. Currently there is no end in sight to these increases, which include transportation and energy costs as well,” explains Steve Wetzel, National Sales Manager. “Even though many North American markets are soft, world-wide demand for many of these products remains high, contributing to the upward cost pressure.”
