Price Increase for CoREZYN and Silmar Products

08 April 2008

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of CoREZYN and Silmar brand products $0.07 per pound for shipments on or after May 1, 2008.

This increase includes all vinyl esters, polyesters, specialty resins, gel coats, colorants, and putties. “As we are all aware, crude oil has been above the $100 per barrel level for some time and will likely remain at this elevated level for the foreseeable future. As a result, this has placed continued upward cost pressure on all polyester feedstocks,” explains Wetzel. Even though the North American economy has slowed, continued strong global demand for certain raw materials has pushed costs higher. In addition the weak U.S. dollar has added to the crude oil uncertainty. “Interplastic continues to invest in product development and manufacturing in order to offer the most cost competitive products to our customers,” said Wetzel.

Interplastic’s Thermoset Resins Division is the manufacturer of CoREZYN and Silmar brand unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, specialty resins, gel coats, and colorants for the cast polymer, solid surface and composites industries.
