ACMA Cites Significant Increase in Pre-Registration for Composites & Polycon 2006

15 October 2006

Nearly 5,000 people and 240 exhibitors from around the world will visit St. Louis on October 18 as part of Composites & Polycon 2006. The annual Composites convention, hosted by the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), is now co-located with Polycon, hosted by the International Cast Polymer Alliance (ICPA).

Officials at the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) said that to date, they have received 30 percent higher pre-registrations for Composites & Polycon 2006 than at this time last year and that these figures also reflect the highest number of full pre-registrants in the organization’s history.

NetComposites and its spin-off moulding business, Aptiform, will both be at the show – feel free to call or email us to arrange an informal meeting to discuss the capabilities of either organisation,

Officials expect record numbers in exhibitions as well. Currently, more than 240 exhibitors are registered for the annual convention, which will take place October 18-20 in St. Louis, Mo.

“There are several reasons that could account for the jump,” says ACMA’s Director of Conferences and Meetings, Jeanne Mendelson. “Our featured co-location with the International Cast Polymer Alliance, the special sessions on wind energy and architectural restoration, and several high performance tutorials offered with the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering are proving to be attractive highlights to pre-registrants. We’ve really tried to diversify our programming by offering quality sessions delivered by respected subject matter experts. Attendees want to leave feeling they have gained information and knowledge they can apply when they return to work.”

Bob Eckert of New & Improved will conduct a CEO Managers Forum on inspiring a culture of innovation in the workplace, which also is expected to be a big draw.

“This year we are featuring more than 60 peer-reviewed papers and several three hour learning labs in Six Sigma, shop optimization, closed moulding, and the use of vinyl ester and polyester resins in corrosion applications,” Mendelson continued.
