CCP will introduce the next generation of MACT-compliant marine-grade gel coats at the International Boat Builders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), in Florida.
The new gel coats, 963 ArmorPlus and 991 ArmorHP, were formulated to provide ease of application, processability and batch consistency, according to the company.
CCP said that they have conducted extensive research to create the ideal formulation for the new products, suggesting that the “Flow and levelling characteristics of the new products are excellent, and resistance to moisture and weathering are markedly improved.”
According to Matt Edmonds, CCP Marine Market Manager, “Our clients expect both MACT compliance and superior quality in our products. ArmorPlus and ArmorHP not only meet those requirements, but exceed them, with the added benefit of being easy to use in the plant.”
Customers have noticed the improvements as well. Victor Roof, president of Sea Hunt Boat Manufacturing Co., Inc., in Lexington, South Carolina, said he’s noticed an improvement in the finished product.
“The profile of our boats has never been better because we’re using Cook (CCP) gel coats and resins,” Roof said.
Sea Hunt has incorporated CCP’s Total Composite Design system into its manufacturing process by using the new ArmorPlus gel coat in combination with CCP’s MACT-compliant LSP resin system. This one-source approach is providing the quality Sea Hunt demands.
“Everyone in our organization is pleased with the product,” Roof said. “We see consistency from one batch to the next, and the colour matches up well during touch-ups. We are extremely pleased with all the workability aspects from application to finish.”
