Aker Kvaerner has successfully completed a capacity increase, ahead of schedule, at Teijin Twaron's spinning facilities in Emmen, The Netherlands.
Teijin Twaron is one of the world's largest producers of high performance fibres, and the EUR 5 million contract entailed the engineering, procurement and construction management services.
The project, originally planned for mechanical completion in September 2005, was completed over four months ahead of schedule and within budget, but most important without any lost time incidents. It was executed from Aker Kvaerner's office in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands.

The expansion will result in a 5-10 percent increase of the total production of Twaron yarn and will enable Teijin Twaron to respond to the increase in demand for its Twaron fibres.
Aker Kvaerner is also currently providing engineering and construction management services on the significant Twaron expansion project named Niji (Japanese for ""rainbow"") in Delfzijl, as well as Emmen, which will increase capacity by a further 20 percent.
Applications for composites in the sports and leisure sector will be showcased by various exhibitors at Composites Europe in Stuttgart, Germany, on 6-8 November.
The programme has been announced for the second Composites in Sport Conference and Exhibition, being held at Loughborough University, UK, on 3-4 October 2018.
