KUKA Robotics Joins the Society of the Plastics Industry

03 August 2005

KUKA Robotics Corporation, manufacturer of industrial robots, has become a member of the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) an organization representing the interests of the entire plastics industry supply chain.

"Our KS series shelf mount robots introduced earlier this year are ideally suited for the ever increasing demands injection moulders place on their automation equipment and this membership will help us better understand their needs,"" said Joe Campbell, director of strategic alliances for KUKA Robotics Corporation.

"Our customers have made it clear they need the flexibility of the 6-axis robot but with the low profile capability of a shelf mount form factor," continued Mr. Campbell. "The KS Series product line is ideal for optimizing space while increasing accessibility to the workcell,"

KUKA KS Series shelf mount robots are designed for top unloading of injection moulding machines. The robots are ideal for top mount integration onto injection-moulding machines, for part unloading, insert loading, de-gating, and other post mould processes.
