Bcomtesting, provider of physical testing services to the composites and industries, are to expand its operations by 40 percent.

Based in North Carolina in the US, Bcomtesting evaluates mechanical and physical properties of composites and plastics for both fabricators and suppliers to those industries.

Central to the company's expansion plans is the 40 percent increase of its lab space. Also included in the expansion are new testing capabilities through the purchase of new equipment.

Bcomtesting now provides IZOD Impact and Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) testing for customers within these two industries.

Bcomtesting offers a wide variety of testing capabilities with a specialization in polymer and composites evaluation. While the array of tests offered differs in type and complexity, a brief summary of the most common tests conducted include:

Tensile Testing
Flexural Testing
Glass-to-Resin Ratios
Izod Impact
Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT)

The expansion of space and capabilities is expected to be completed by December 2005.
