DOW, AOC and Reichhold have made further increases to the price of resins.
The Epoxy Products and Intermediates (EP&I) business of The Dow Chemical Company will be increasing both the list and off-list prices for epoxy resins in North America. There are a number of increases being made which will take effect from January 1, 2005. Customers are advised to consult the website for full details.
The increases are in addition to those previously announced in October (effective November 15, 2004), which included Dow’s full line of epoxy resins and hardeners.
Additionally, effective January 1, 2005, Dow will increase the differential between bulk product and drummed product by $0.05/lb for all epoxy resin and hardener grades. Historically, the differential between bulk and drums has been $0.10/lb; however, increases in the cost of labour, steel, warehousing and freight associated with packaged shipments have resulted in the need to set a new differential of $0.15/lb.
AOC will increase prices by US$0.06 per pound on all products sold in the United States and Canada shipped on or after January 1, 2005. This is in addition to the increase effective November 15, 2004.
AOC will also increase prices by (euros) €120 per metric ton on all products shipped from our UK plant on or after January 1, 2005.
Reichhold are to increases resin prices by $ 0.05 per pound on all unsaturated polyester resins and $ 0.10 per pound for vinyl ester resins sold in the United States and Canada effective for orders shipped on or after January 1, 2005. This is in addition to the increase which took effect November 15, 2004.
