MTC Awarded $5 Million to Provide Composite Materials to Support C-17 Aircraft

16 January 2005

MTC Technologies is to provide composite materials for the C-17 aircraft and other Department of Defence Weapon Systems

As the prime contractor, MTC will establish a Composite Clearinghouse at its division in Warner Robins, Georgia. The clearinghouse will serve as a central supply source to effectively and efficiently facilitate requisition and delivery of designated composite materials to support field-level maintenance of C-17 aircraft, as well as to supply composite materials for other weapon systems and military services when requested.

MTC, in establishing, maintaining, and operating its clearinghouse, will bring to bear its broad-based technical and logistical experience in supplier research to target and meet the needs of multiple DoD customers. MTC plans to combine the purchasing power of these multiple customers to achieve quantity discounts and guarantee best value materials and service to each of them.

David Gutridge, MTC's Chief Executive Officer, stated, ""With this award, MTC will become the focal point for ALC composite material orders, transaction receipts, and customer coordination. We plan to use our ISO 9001 process design to flow requirements to our subcontractors and provide seamless visibility to our customers 24 hours a day. In keeping with MTC's quality approach to inventory management, we will continually survey the needs of each customer and refresh our supplier capability to satisfy particular requirements. We see this task as a stepping stone to expand our global efforts to improve operational readiness for the C-17 fleet, and to provide quality support to other priority weapon systems.""
