Goodrich Corporation has announced plans to introduce a new brake for the A320 family of aircraft.

The brake, which incorporates Goodrich's latest technology - Duracarb carbon heat sink material - is on display at Farnborough International.

Paul Snyder, Vice President, Civil Aircraft Wheels and Brakes stated, ""The transition to Goodrich produced Duracarb carbon material for the brake used on the A320 family of aircraft supports our fundamental business objective of providing superior service to Goodrich customers through long-term management of carbon supply, performance, and cost."" In addition to the inclusion of Duracarb carbon material, the new brake also embodies several design changes to improve product reliability. Certification of the new brake is scheduled for late 2004 with entry into service planned in early 2005.

Goodrich has created innovative braking systems for over 200 types of aircraft during this half century and has many more technological improvements in development.
