Ashland and RSM Increase Resin Prices

27 August 2004

Composite Polymers (a division of the Ashland Inc. group) and Resolution Specialty Materials (formerly a division of Eastman Chemical Company) have increased resin prices.

Composite Polymers is increasing by 100 EURO/T the price of its unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins and gel coat products in Europe.

This price increase will be effective Sept. 1, 2004, and is driven by a continuing and relentless escalation of raw material and energy costs. This price increase is in addition to previously announced increases.

Resolution Specialty Materials (RSM) is to increase prices by $.10 per pound for all unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins.

The increases apply to all shipments delivered on or after Monday, September 6, 2004.
