Johns Manville release MultiStar 819, and appoint Steven Hochauser as Chairman following the imminent retirement of Charles Henry. Multistar 819 is an assembled roving and is regarded by JM as being characterized by a good choppability, low fuzz and uniform splitting during chopping.
Multistar is applied as a reinforcement of unsaturated polyester resins and is claimed to achieve excellent performance in spray-up technology, especially where smooth surfaces are required.
JM claim that the innovative roving offers advantages as they are fast wet through and fast wet out, non static charge and non entanglement during processing.
Johns Manville have also disclosed that Charles L. ""Jerry"" Henry (63), chairman and chief executive officer, will retire on June 1, 2004. Upon his retirement, Steven B. Hochhauser (43), president and chief operating officer, will assume the role of chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Henry joined JM as chairman, president and CEO in 1996. Prior to that, Henry was the chief financial officer and executive vice president for DuPont, where he had a successful 33-year career.
Hochhauser began his career at JM in 2001. Prior to joining JM, Hochhauser was with Honeywell International (formerly AlliedSignal), where his last role was as vice president and general manager of Engineered Applications & Solutions, a $750 million global business.
