Further to recent price rise announcements, AOC and Interplastic have increased their resin prices.
AOC will increase prices by US $0.04 per pound on all its resin products sold in the United States and Canada shipped on or after June 1, 2004. This is in addition to the price increase issued last week for Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the prices of all CoREZYN and Silmar polyester, vinyl ester, specialty resins, gel coats, colorants, and putties $0.04 per pound. The increase will apply to all shipments delivered on or after June 1, 2004.
“This increase is necessitated by continued increases in the costs of polyester raw materials, transportation, containers and energy,” explained Steve Wetzel, National Sales Manager for Interplastics.

UK company Prodrive Composites has developed a process for manufacturing recyclable composite components that can satisfy future end-of-life requirements without any compromise in the performance of the original parts. The company says the P2T (Primary to Tertiary) process not only simplifies recycling, but endows a composite material with the potential to fulfil three or more useful lifetimes.
