Skloplast Changes Name to Johns Manville Slovakia

15 October 2003

In January 2001, Johns Manville acquired Skloplast, a.s. in Trnava, Slovakia and integrated it into its global organization. As one of the final phases of the integration process, the name Skloplast has been changed to Johns Manville Slovakia.

“Johns Manville markets its products worldwide. At this time we are reviewing our brand policy, previously based on two different brand names, to guarantee our global customers a unified brand ” said Michael Effing, Global Business Director Reinforcements.

Johns Manville has also launched a newly improved chopped strand mat in Europe named ES 22-6. Produced in Trnava in widths of up to 3 m, the mat is applied as a reinforcement in hand-lay up, RTM and RIM production processes. The mat, available in square weights from 225 to 600 g/m², is produced with a PVAC based emulsion binder soluble in styrene, resulting in outstanding compatibility with all types of unsatured polyester resins and making it suitable for form-demanding products.

CSM ES 22-6 claims to offer excellent wetability in polyester resins, good drapability and high mechanical strength.

Johns Manville employs approximately 9,000 people and operates 43 manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and Asia.
