Two New Silmar Low HAP Surfboard Resins

30 September 2003

Interplastic has introduced two new low HAP Silmar Surfboard resins: SIL66BE-249ALH laminating resin and SIL66BF250ALH Hot Coat with wax.

These new resins were formulated to allow the surfboard manufacturer to meet low HAP criteria and SCAQMD’s Rule 1162 requirements without the loss of application characteristics, production speed or a sacrifice of color quality. “The surfboard manufacturers who have evaluated the two resins during the trial stages noticed a substantial reduction in odor, improved handling characteristics and switched from using their current resin immediately,” said Daryl Francis, Business Manager, West.
