Owens Corning has opened a €30 million manufacturing expansion to its composites Veil Technologies Facility in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.

Designed to support the company’s global growth strategy in the specialty non-wovens market, this addition doubles the capacity of the facility’s supply of glass non-woven mat to the worldwide customer base. The company’s executive leadership team, local and international dignitaries, customers and employees of the facility were in attendance for the grand opening ceremony.

“Key growth drivers for this business are focused product innovations and continuous market driven application development,” said Raymund Trost, vice president of OC Veil Technologies. Trost added that the new line features the latest innovations in non-woven process technologies, providing increased capabilities to service customers on a global scale.

This investment has also increased the Apeldoorn workforce by approximately 30 percent. In addition to the new production line, the expansion also includes a new warehouse and office accommodations.

Owens Corning Chief Executive Officer Dave Brown stated that the Apeldoorn expansion clearly demonstrates Owens Corning’s commitment to grow global market share. “The expansion at the Apeldoorn facility demonstrates our rapid growth and leading technological advances in the non-wovens and composite materials industry. This new investment offers profitable growth opportunities for OC Veil Technologies customers and reinforces our position as a global leader in the growing composites industry,” said Brown.
