New high thermal shock gelcoat sanitary ware

29 March 2003

Scott Bader has released its new high thermal shock resistant spray gelcoat Crystic G967 for the European sanitaryware market.

Crystic G967 is an ISO/NPG polyester resin gelcoat, specially designed for sanitary applications where surface quality and long-term performance is essential. It is claimed to exhibit up to 40% increase in thermal resistance compared with competitive sanitary gelcoats, plus virtually zero porosity. After 2000 thermal cycle tests, being alternately heated and cooled between 75° C and 15° C, no cracks or colour changes were visible.

Crystic G967 is available in two versions, one for airless spray equipment application, Crystic G967SMK and one for gravity gun application, Crystic G967K. The formulation ensures that a glossy, pinhole free surface can be achieved with either type of spray equipment. Both Crystic Gelcoat G967 SMK and G967 K can also be colour matched with a high degree of accuracy to most colours used in sanitary ceramics.

These gelcoats are designed for spray moulding quality composite parts such as bathroom sinks, bathtubs, shower trays and shower cabins, for use in domestic or commercial properties, hospital, hotels,
