Thermal Equipment Corporation Receives Autoclave Order from Boeing

25 June 2004

Boeing has awarded the first large autoclave contract to be used in the manufacture of parts for the new 7E7 Dreamliner to Thermal Equipment Corporation.

“TEC is elated and honoured to be part of the 7E7 team”, said Greg Smythe, VP of Sales for TEC. “It is a very exciting time in TEC’s history.”

The autoclave ordered by Boeing for the 7E7 – its structure claimed to consist of more composite parts than any other commercial aircraft - is thought to be one of the largest in history with usable dimensions of 30’ x 60’ and weighing in at over 800,000 pounds.

Thermal Equipment Corporation, an Aeroform Group company, has manufacturing facilities in California, and has more than 400 Autoclave units in daily service worldwide. The Autoclave for Boeing will be built on-site in Wichita due to its size.
