DIAB’s engineering will present at the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference an outdoor demonstration titled ‘Ultra-Light Marine Construction Utilizing Pre-Preg and Thermoformed PVC Foam Core’.
The exhibition is at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center between the days of February 5 and 7, 2003. DIAB will construct a small boat hull using epoxy pre-preg and thermoformed Divinycell PVC foam. The pre-preg skins will be bonded to the preformed foam using a vacuum-bagging system in conjunction with a heating element. This demonstration will present a clean and efficient way to produce an extremely light and structurally sound part.
This process technology has been implemented in a number of successful high performance marine projects, including the construction of illbruck Challenge, the winner of the Volvo Ocean Race. For further information please visit the DIAB booth at IBEX.
Cobra International will showcase a range of composite products at CAMX 2018, including carbon fibre components for the automotive, transportation, marine, water sports and luxury sectors.
Innovators and industry pioneers will gather to discuss the latest applications of graphene nanotubes at the Nanoaugmented Materials Industry Summit (NAUM) 2018 in Shanghai, China, on 31 October. Visitors will also be able to see an on-site demonstration of the production of nanoaugmented products with real industrial equipment.
Cobra International is celebrating its 40th year and has commissioned a book that will look at 40 key projects and 40 key people that were integral to the company’s growth. ‘Klaus Simmer and The King Cobra: A breakthrough in surfboard design and production technology’ is an extract article from this book and a breakthrough composites product for Cobra, establishing its presence as a manufacturer of high performance windsurf boards and creating global visibility for the Cobra brand.
