Diversified Composites Acquires Avia Composites

Diversified cComposites has acquired the production assets, technology, trademarks and personnel associated with Avia Composites of North Carolina. Avia Composites specialised in the manufactre of carbon fibewr pultrusions for aircraft, industrial and sporting goods applications, complimenting the carbon fibre pultrusion business of Diversified.

As part of the acquisition, Diversified Composites gets additional pultrusion equipment and a second manufacturing faciklity in close proximity to established diversified customers. In addition, Avia has developed unique carbon fibre processing technologies that permit higher that normal fiber volumes for improved properties and higher processing speeds.

In a joint venture activity, Diversified has purchased an Omniglass licence from Jeff Martin, to allow Diversified to make thin wall, complex profiles. Jeff Martin has joined Diversified in a prt-time role of VP Marketing for these complex profiles. Mike Yeats, formerly of Pultronex has also joined in a business development capacity, whilst Reggie Durhman and Sean Raymond have joined from Avia
