ROHACELL XT qualified for TIGER Helicopter

28 March 2002

ROHACELL XT, Röhm´s high temperature PMI foam has recently been qualified for the engine cowling of the TIGER helicopter.

It is the first time ever a rigid foam was co-cured with BMI prepregs. The foam withstands 190°C/0,7 MPa (100psi) cure cycles and takes post-cures up to 235°C. The new sandwich foam core is the alternative to expensive honeycomb cores and avoid dimpling/telegraphing of the prepreg skins. This means the structural potential of the skins can be fully exploited.
