23 June 2002

Hexcel Corporation has received approximately $11 million from Hercules Inc. in connection with a contract dispute arising out of the acquisition of Hercules' Composites Products Division in 1996.

The payment satisfies the judgment entered after Hercules had exhausted all appeals from a lower court decision in favor of Hexcel in the New York Courts.

Hexcel Corporation is the world's leading advanced structural materials company. It designs, manufactures and markets lightweight, high performance reinforcement products, composite materials and composite structures for use in commercial aerospace, space and defense, electronics, general industrial, and recreation applications.
