The Workshop “Composites in Construction: a Reality” is a collaborative activity between the Department of Structural Analysis and Design of the University of Naples “Federico II” and the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies of the University of Missouri-Rolla. The workshop was organized with the objective of gathering the leaders in FRP technology to reflect on its state of art and look at an agenda for the research in the new century. The Organizing Committee invited 32 participants from academia, industry, engineering and construction. After an introductory general meeting, participants will split into break-up sessions. A final general session will allow participants to set an action plan and detail the research needs for the immediate and long-term future. All the papers will be collected in an ASCE Proceedings volume. Connected to the Workshop activities, a Special Issue of the ASCE Journal of Composites for Construction will be published.
