Cymat Development with European Automotive Supplier

Cymat Corp and a European-based major Tier 1 global automotive supplier have established a co-development program to design and test an automotive component using Cymat's proprietary Stabilized Aluminum Foam (""SAF"") technology. The component will be designed to improve the crashworthiness of vehicles and is intended to form part of a future front-end bumper system for automobiles.

The co-development program for the component is expected to take place in multiple phases. Currently, the first phase has been formalized and is expected to be completed within nine months. In this phase, Cymat will supply the component filled with aluminum foam and the supplier will independently test it within the front-end system. This will be followed by a comprehensive joint report on the performance of the component and ultimately a marketing decision. Upon successful completion of the development and test phases, we anticipate moving forward to market to global automotive OEMs. Based on product acceptance, the target is a commercial production launch of this SAF component in 2003.
