Ameron Reports Higher First-Quarter Earnings

23 March 2001

Ameron International Corporation’s first quarter's operating performance reflects the continued strength of their Fiberglass-Composite Pipe and Infrastructure Products businesses. The Fiberglass-Composite Pipe Group's sales and profits increased due to the continued worldwide demand for oil field piping. While shipments to industrial and fuel-handling markets remained flat during the quarter, production of larger-diameter fiberglass pipe began for a water project in California. This is a relatively new market for Ameron's fiberglass pipe and should enhance the already positive outlook for the Fiberglass-Composite Pipe business in 2001.

Ameron International Corporation is a multinational manufacturer of highly-engineered products and materials for the chemical, industrial, energy, transportation and infrastructure markets. Ameron is a leading producer of water transmission lines; high-performance coatings and finishes for the protection of metals and structures; fiberglass-composite pipe for transporting oil, chemicals and corrosive fluids and specialized materials and products used in infrastructure projects.
