Ceramics Process Systems Announces 2000 Results

Ceramics Process Systems Corporation showed a net loss of $194 thousand on revenue of $5.0 million for the fiscal year ended December 30, 2000. This compares with a net income of $238 thousand on revenue of $4.8 million for the year ended January 1, 2000.

Grant Bennett, President said: ""In 2000 we made significant progress in broadening our customer base and beginning to penetrate new applications. In 2000, 34% of revenues were from products introduced within the previous 18 months at new customers, compared to 1999 in which 16% of revenues were from products introduced within the previous 18 months at new customers. The application area of highest revenue and unit growth in 2000 was heat spreaders and lids for microprocessors, an application area where we believe penetration by metal matrix composites is just beginning.""

CPS develops, manufactures and markets advanced metal-matrix composites for housing and providing thermal management of high-density electronics. The Company's products are primarily used in wireless communications basestations, high-density microprocessor packaging, motor controllers and satellite communications.
