Intermarine Yachting Selects CoREZYN Brand Products

14 September 2000

Intermarine Savannah has selected Interplastic Corporation's CoREZYN brand VEX-169-826 vinyl ester resin and C-1037-NCU clear Iso/NPG gel coat for their custom yachts. Intermarine uses the Vacuum Infusion Process (VIP) on all decks, bulkheads, main girders (up to 130 feet long) and hulls. A 123-foot hull (scheduled for October) will be made using the process and when complete, it will be one of the largest composite parts ever made by infusion. The launch of this uniquely manufactured vessel will be in 2002. Intermarine selected the CoREZYN products because they met Intermarine's stringent requirements for performance and durability and they are certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). As one of the world's leading maritime classification societies, Det Norske Veritas establishes rules for the construction of ships and mobile offshore platforms and carries out in-service inspection of ships and mobile offshore units. Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is an independent, autonomous foundation established in 1864 with the objective of safeguarding life, property and the environment. Interplastic Corporation is a specialty chemical company headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota. It is focused on the production and distribution of unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins and gel coats to the composites and cast polymer industries.
