Victrex - Composite Technologist

Based in our state of the art facilities in the North West of England, the Composite Technologist will report to the R&D Manager, and will design, plan, deliver and evaluate experimental technology projects to support delivery of technology opportunities for new products including composite materials.

You will be responsible for a number of projects at any one time, which will require leading trials through scale-up to full scale manufacturing.   You will provide Materials Science expertise to the team.

The successful candidate will have;

  • Bachelors or Higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good core competencies in thermoplastic composites processing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Automotive or Aerospace production quality standards
  • Basic knowledge of material properties
  • Strong analytical, communication, delivery and team working skills which are essential to being successful in the role
  • Self-motivated with a proactive nature
  • Ability to work to tight timescales
  • Flexible and adaptable to cope with changing and often conflicting demands and deadlines
