Advanced Engineering 2018

Engineering & Technology Solutions Exhibition 2017

Aerospace manufacturer, Safran Nacelles will open its doors this September for what will be the first ‘on-site’ supplier event of its kind to be hosted by the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA).

The NWAA is partnering with specialist technology transfer event organiser, Nu-Tech Exhibitions and Events, to introduce a new style of exhibition that brings suppliers into direct contact with end-users in this unique aerospace manufacturing facility which is synonymous with the production of aircraft nacelle systems and reverse thrusters.

The first of these ‘Engineering & Technology Solutions Exhibition’s will be held at Safran Nacelles’ facility in Burnley on Tues, 26th September 2017 where companies, both aerospace suppliers and those who can transfer technology from other sectors, will be offered an opportunity to showcase their capabilities to end-users based on the site where they are actively seeking engineering, technology and innovative solutions to meet future manufacturing needs.

In recent years, the site has been primarily associated with the Airbus A330ceo and business jets, but is now embarking on new programmes such as the Airbus A320neo and Comac C919. Given Safran Nacelles’ expertise in composites, sheet metal, thrust reverser and final assembly, the Burnley site plays a critical role in manufacturing alongside its sister’s facilities in Le Havre and Morocco. Recent expansion of the Research & Technology in the UK has led Safran Nacelles to seek to better understand supply chain offerings and support for future programmes.

We are therefore able to confirm that for the 2017 Engineering & Technology Solutions Exhibition, Safran Nacelles is interested in meeting suppliers who can provide key improvements in challenges such as weight, drag, noise, electrification, reliability, maintainability, manufacturability, low operating costs, and environmental impacts to develop solutions for aircraft nacelles which could mature in a few years’ time.  Companies who can also develop these future technologies or items, and who are interested in joining future research and technology programmes to develop these solutions for use upon future nacelle programmes, are also welcome.

Held in a purpose-built exhibition marquee inside the Safran Nacelles manufacturing facility, cost to exhibit will be £222 per sqm (space available from 4.5sqm = 3 x 1.5m or larger) and will include exhibition space (in which you erect you own display panels), table, chairs, two delegates, access to 1 x 3-pin domestic socket (2amps/500w), refreshments throughout the exhibition period, buffet lunch, free 25-word listing in the post-exhibition e-catalogue which is sent to registered visitors as a lasting reminder of your capabilities and a ¼ page advert in the NWAA’s aerospace newsmagazine ‘Plane Talk’ (artwork to be supplied). Small companies with fewer than 50 employees also have the option to purchase a 2 x 1.5m (3sqm) footprint – please ask for further details.
