Solvay has appointed Composites One as a new North America distributor for its process materials and tooling product lines.
Composites One, now part of Solvay’s authorised distribution network, says it will offer a large range of consumables, including vacuum bagging films, release films, release fabrics, peel plies, breather fabrics, sealant tapes and adhesive tapes, as roll stock or engineered kits, as well as tooling prepreg.
This new appointment provides Solvay with wider access to a large geography and multiple market segments, thus improving its ability to service customers.
“Solvay’s market approach is very much aligned with the Composites One value proposition – a broad portfolio delivered to customers through world-class service coupled with product and process technology expertise. Composites One has a proven track record of bringing technical products to market through its extensive North American distribution network and we are excited about this new opportunity,” said Maria Gallahue-Worl, Executive Vice President Industrial Business Line of Solvay’s Composite Materials Global Business Unit.
“Composites One and Solvay have entered into this partnership to expand their ability to service the entire composites industry. Solvay’s expansive and recognised product line can be utilised in a wide variety of industrial and aerospace applications. It simplifies composite manufacturing processes, improves cost efficiencies, and fits in very well with our existing close mould process and advanced composites offerings. It also positions us to expand further in markets like Aerospace. We are excited about the potential this partnership offers both companies and our customers,” said Dave Smith, Composites One Vice President of Marketing.
