Tecniplas will exhibit FRP tanks suitable for contact with drinking water at the Fispal Tecnologia food and drink trade fair in São Paulo, Brazil, on 26-28 June.
“Besides being non-toxic and innocuous, FRP is more competitive than the stainless steel normally used in tanks installed in the food industry,” states Luís Gustavo Rossi, Director of Tecniplas.
With the same dimensions and technical characteristics, reinforced plastic tanks can cost up to 35% less than stainless steel.
“Not to mention that they are monolithic, that is, moulded in one piece," he adds. "That means there are no welding points, areas usually subject to leaks.”
Tecniplas recently supplier a tank to Leão Alimentos e Bebidas, a Coca-Cola company, to store water. With a capacity of 400 m³, the tank is 5 m in diameter and 24 m in length, and it is the largest monolithic FRP tank ever made in Brazil, Tecniplas reports.
